D-Thr-L-tert-Leu-derived catalyst 4c promoted [3 + 2] cycloaddition of allenoates to α-substituted acrylates in a regiospecific and stereoselective manner, furnishing functionalized cyclopentenes with quaternary stereogenic centers in high yields and with excellent enantioselectivities.
