Abstract The 5,5′-thiodisalicylato complexes of nickel(II) with water, ammonia, methylamine and pyridine were synthesized and their structure established to be [Ni(TDSA)L 2 · n H 2 O], where TDSA = 5,5′-thiodisalicylic acid, [C 6 H 3 (OH)(COOH)SC 6 H 3 (OH)(COOH)]. LH 2 O, NH 3 CH 3 NH 2 or pyridine, and n =3 for H 2 O, 2 for NH 3 and CH 3 NH 3 , and 1 for pyridine complexes, from elemental analysis, IR
