  Abstract Nineflavonoids: a dihydrochalcone,a flavone,four 3-methylflavonols,a flavanone, a 3-methylflavanonol and a flavan were isolated from the roots of Derris araripensis . Eight of these compounds are reported for the first time. Structures were established by spectral analysis and chemical degradation.
