aryl-aryl-coupling reactions of 2′-bromoreticulines are described. Their regioselectivity depends on the cyclization method. The palladium(0) catalyzed reaction of 22 leads preferentially to the salutaridine derivative 27, whilst via the photochemically induced SRN1 reaction of 22 the aporphine skeleton 24 is obtained.
