ONE-POT OXIDATION OF AZOMETHINE COMPOUNDS INTO ARENECARBOXYLIC ACIDS
摘要:
Aromatic azomethine compounds, such as aldazines 1, aldoximes 7 and tosylhydrazones 8 oxidized with 30% hydrogen peroxide in the presence of poly(bis-1,2-phenylene) diselenide (6) as catalyst produce arenecarboxylic acids 2 mostly in high to excellent yields. The presented one-pot procedure has a synthetic value.
A novel protocol for the synthesis of α-aryl nitriles has been successfully achieved via a copper-catalyzed cyanation of N-tosylhydrazones employing thiocyanate as the source of cyanide. The features of this method include a convenient operation, readily available substrates, low-toxicity thiocyanate salts, and a broad substrate scope.
poses considerable challenges. Herein we report a Pd-catalyzed enantioselective three-component coupling of N-tosylhydrazone, arylhalide, and terminalalkyneunder mild conditions utilizing a novel chiral sulfinamide phosphine ligand (GF-Phos), which provides a facile access to chiral diarylmethyl alkynes, which are useful synthons in organic synthesis as well as exist as the skeleton in many bioactive

Highly efficient: Pinacolalkylboronates were synthesized by the reaction of tosylhydrazones with bis(pinacolato)diboron or pinacolborane under transition‐metal‐free conditions. This reaction represents an expeditious conversion of carbonyl functionality into a boronate group.

(Arenesulfonyl)hydrazone derivatives of aryl aldehydes are readily alkylated by trialkylboranes in the presence of base to generate new organoboranes that may be converted to the corresponding substituted alkanes or alcohols depending upon the reaction conditions chosen. Both tosyl- and trisylhydrazone derivatives can be utilized in the reaction, which tolerates a variety of functional groups, making it a versatile alternative to both the Grignard and Suzuki-coupling reactions.
