The simple synthetic development of acyclic pincer bis(pyridine)carbodicarbene is depicted herein. Presented is the first isolated structural pincer carbodicarbene with a C‐C‐C angle of 143°, larger than the monodentate framework. An efficient synthesis of benzimidazoles was developed by virtue of a recycled palladium catalyzed hydrogen transfer. The reaction can be carried out smoothly undermildconditions to give rise to a variety of benzimidazoles with good to excellent yields. The palladium catalyst could be recovered easily and reused six times with great catalytic activity.

An efficient Fe(NO3)3·9H2O promoted ortho-nitration reaction of aniline derivatives has been developed. This reaction may go through a nitrogen dioxide radical (NO2˙) intermediate, which is generated by the thermal decomposition of iron(III) nitrate. The practicality of the present method using nontoxic and inexpensive iron reagents has been shown by the broad substrate scope and applications.

A newly developed chemoselective reaction of sodium arylsulfinates or arylsulfonyl chlorides with nitroarenes has been disclosed. The chemistry, in which non-toxic water and recyclable iron-based metal-organic frameworks are employed as the solvent and catalyst, respectively, provides an efficient approach for the generation of N-arylsulfonamides, which are widely present in biologically active compounds
