(in which each of R₂ and R₃ is a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched alkyl group optionally substituted with a hydroxy, lower alkoxy or alkoxycarbonyl group and; R₄ is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group) comprises reacting an enamine of the formula:
(in which each of R₁ and R₁, is a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched alkyl group optionally substituted with a hydroxy, lower alkoxy or alkoxycarbonyl group; and R₂ and R₃ have the meanings defined above) with a benzofuroxane of the formula:
(in which R₄ has the meaning defined above) at 10 to 80°C in the presence of ammonia or a primary amine compound and in an organic solvent.
