    Disclosed are a photosensitive material for the electrophotography, which comprises an electroconductive substrate and a photosensitive layer formed on said substrate, said photosensitive layer comprising a charge transfer medium and a charge-generating pigment dispersed in said medium, wherein the photosensitive layer contains as the matrix resin a thermoplastic polyester consisting essentially of recurring units represented by the following general formula: wherein R' stands for a phenylene group or an ethylene group, R2 stands for a group represented by the formula or- R3 stands for a direct bond or a divalent bridging atom or group, and the ring A may have a substituent not participating in the reaction, and a photosensitive material for the electrophotography, which comprises an electroconductive substrate, a photoconductive organic pigment-containing, charge-generating layer formed on said substrate and a charge transfer layer formed on said charge-generating layer, wherein the charge transfer layer contains as the matrix resin the above-mentioned thermoplastic polyester.

    Naphthalenetetracarboxylic acid diimide derivatives represented by the following general formula, wherein R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group or a halogen atom, R1 and R2 are different from each other and may be a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, alkoxyl group or an aryl group, respectively, and R3 is a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, an alkoxyl group or an aryl group. The derivatives exhibit excellent solubility in an organic solvent, excellent compatibility with a resin binder and excellent photosensitivity, and are very useful as an electron transporting agent for the electrophotosensitive material.

    New compounds having an electron transferring capability, and an electrophotographic photoreceptor including the new compounds are disclosed. The compound according to the present invention is represented by the following Formula 2: where R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are independently selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 to C 20 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 1 to C 20 alkoxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 6 to C 30 aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C 7 to C 30 aralkyl group, and a halogen; m is 0 or an integer of 1 to 4; and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 5. These compounds can be used an electron transferring material of an undercoating layer or a photoconductive layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. The electron transferring material of the invention produces an electrophotographic photoreceptor having improved electrical characteristics.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor having an improved electrical characteristic and a desirable image quality is provided.
