The reactions of functionalized fluoro-olefins, CF2=CFX (X=−SiMe3, −SO2OSiMe3) and CF2=C(CF3)X (X= −OSiMe3, −OSO2OSiMe3), with CH3CH2OH, H2O, SO3 and SO2FCF2C(O)F, have been investigated. The influence of the trimethylsilyl group on the olefins changes their molecular properties; rather than an attack at the double bond fission of the C-Si or O-Si bond occurs in most of the reactions.
