4-Fluoroalkyl-1,2-dihydropyrimidines were synthesized in good yields by the tri-component reaction of 2,2-dihydropolyfluoroalkylaldehydes, ammonia and aldehydes, ketones or enol ethers in the presence of zinc chloride under mild conditions. (C) 2004 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
