  Intramolecular substitution reaction of geminal dibromo alkenes proceeds to afford indenes, dihydronaphthalenes, dihydrofurans, and dihydropyran via in situ generated lithium alkylidene carbenoids, which have a carbon or oxygen nucleophilic moiety.
