  The present invention provides a use for the preparation of an immunopotentiator of a spergualin-related compound represented by the following general formula [I] or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof: H2N- C -NH-X-(CH2)3-CO-NH- C H-CO-NH-R [I] I HN Y wherein X represents or -(CH2)n-, Y represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl or hydroxymethyl group, n is an integer of 3 or 5, and R represents -(CH2)4-R, (wherein R, is -NH2 or -OH), -(CH2)3-R2 (wherein R2 is -COOH or -CHO), -(CH2)4-NH-(CH2)3-OH or -(CH2)4-NH-(CH2)2-R2 (wherein R2 is as defined above). The invention also provides new compounds of the above formula provided that the case wherein X is --(CH2)3- and Y is a hydrogen atom is excluded, and pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds as active ingredients."
