  The invention refers to the preparation of aluminium and diosmin octasulfate, a new derivative of diosmin, by reaction of diosmin with a sulfating agent, such as sulfur trioxide-pyridine complex, sulfur trioxide-trimethylamine complex and sulfur trioxide-triethylamine complex, at a temperature between 40º and 110º C, in an appropiate medium, with preference pyridine, dimethylformamide and dimethylacetamide, and final addition of aluminium hydroxychloride.
