  A new Brønsted acid catalysed solvent‐free cascade reaction consisting of a ring closure‐ring fission process between α‐arylaminocyclobutanones and alcohols has been established, providing highly functionalised 3‐(2‐alkoxyethyl)indoles in good to excellent yields.
