The complementary components AP(2) and AU(2), resulting respectively from the linking of diacylaminopyridine and uracil derivatives to an anthracenic core, have been designed in order to self-assemble, through hydrogen bonding, into polymeric supramolecular rigid rods (AP(2), AU(2))(n). The synthesis of these compounds is reported.
The self-assembly of the complementary components AP2 and AU2, through hydrogen bonding via uracil and 2,6-diacylaminopyridine groups, yields polymeric supramolecular rigid rods (AP2, AU2)n that present a lyotropic mesophase.
