Desired products were obtained in moderate to excellent yields. Similar aminoindolizines products were afforded from trimethylsilyl protected alkyne substrates as well. This methodology provides a rapid access to construct a diversity-oriented library of indolizines.

The efficient synthesis of aminoindolizines in ecofriendly water with broad substrate scope from the mild and readily available AgI‐catalyzed one‐pot three‐component reaction of pyridine‐2‐carboxaldehyde, secondary amines, and terminal alkynes proceeds through the sequential Mannich‐Grignard addition as well as intramolecularcyclization was reported for the first time.
Abstract Herein, we first time developed a simple, readily available, clean and efficient CuCN/[bmim][PF6] system for the one-potsynthesis of 3-aminoindolizines using commercially available starting materials which included pyridine-2-carbaldehyde, secondary amines, and terminal alkynes. As well, the CuCN/[bmim][PF6] system was reused six times without any appreciable change in its activity.
