    As a novel substance having a novel skeleton, provided is a novel phosphorescent organometallic iridium complex that can emit phosphorescence in a blue green to red wavelength region and has high emission efficiency. The phosphorescent organometallic iridium complex has a ligand having a pyridyl pyrimidine skeleton, i.e., the phosphorescent organometallic iridium complex has a ligand having a structure represented by the following general formula (G0). Note that in the formula, R 1 and R 4 to R 6 separately represent hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and R 2 and R 3 separately represent any of hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group that may have a substituent, and a pyridyl group that may have a substituent.

    A light-emitting element with high emission efficiency is provided. A light-emitting element with a long lifetime is provided. The light-emitting element includes an anode; a hole-transport layer over the anode, containing a hole-transport compound and a compound; a light-emitting layer over the hole-transport layer, containing a host material and a guest material; and a cathode over the light-emitting layer. The host material is an electron-transport compound. The guest material and the compound are each independently a phosphorescent compound or a thermally activated delayed fluorescence material. A peak of an emission spectrum of the compound is on a shorter wavelength side than a peak of an emission spectrum of the guest material. Only the guest material emits light.

The first compound is a phosphorescent iridium metal complex having a LUMO level of greater than or equal to −3.5 eV and less than or equal to −2.5 eV, and the second compound is an organic compound having a pyrimidine skeleton. The light-emitting element includes an EL layer between a pair of electrodes. The EL layer contains a first compound and a second compound. The first compound is a phosphorescent iridium metal complex having a diazine skeleton, and the second compound is an organic compound having a pyrimidine skeleton.
