    The electrochemical carboxylation of a series of allylic acetates and carbonates was carried out in the presence of CO(2) under atmospheric pressure, with a catalytic amount of nickel-bipyridine complex, to afford the corresponding beta,gamma-unsaturated carboxylic acids.
