The invention concerns pharmaceutically useful novel compounds of the formula I, in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, X, X.sup.1 and Z have the various meanings defined herein, and their non-toxic salts, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The novel compounds are of value in treating conditions such as hypertension and congestive heart failure. The invention further concerns processes for the manufacture of the novel compounds and the use of the compounds in medical treatment.
The invention concerns pharmaceutically useful novel compounds of the formula I, in which ring B, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, X and Z have the various meanings defined herein, and their non-toxic salts, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The novel compounds are of value in treating conditions such as hypertension and congestive heart failure. The invention further concerns processes for the manufacture of the novel compounds and the use of the compounds in medical treatment.
Novel compounds of formula (I), pharmaceutical compositions comprising them and use thereof in the treatment and/or prevention of diseases and disorders related to hormone sensitive lipase. More particularly, the compounds are useful for the treatment and/or prevention of diseases and disorders in which modulation of the activity of hormone sensitive lipase is beneficial.
Based on the inverse relationship between polar surface area and cell permeability and capitalizing on the properties of pyrrolopyrimidines 1 as protein tyrosine kinase inhibitors, pyrrolopyridones 2 were designed and synthesized as potential leads for the development of novel inhibitors with improved cell permeability properties.
