  We present herein a straightforward synthesis of N-Fmoc-protected synthons derived from a phosphinic analogue of methionine. These precursors were used Successfully for the solid-phase synthesis of methionine-mimic phosphinopeptides using BOP-catalyzed coupling without protection of the phosphoryl moiety.
