  An acid sensitive, mono- or di- azoxy compound is reacted with an acidulous acidic polymerizable medium to form a cellular polymeric structure. An unsymmetrical azoxy compound is also provided having the formula ##STR1## where n is 1 or 2 and R.sup.8 is movalent when n is 1 and divalent when n is 2.
