Phenanthraquinone monothiosemicarbazone has been found to be a sensitive and selective reagent for the spectrophotometricdetermination of zinc(II) in the pH range 7.0–8.6. The red complex formed shows maximal absorbance at 510 nm. Beer’s law is obeyed up to 1.96 ppm and optimum range of concentration being 0.22–1.70 ppm.
