It is shown that the insectTenebriomolitor is able to convert the (24R,28S)-isofucosterol epoxide into cholesterol much better than the (24S,28R)-isomer; on the other hand, the (24R,28R)- and the (24S,28S)-fucosterol epoxides are transformed into cholesterol at about the same extent.
