Synthesis and polymerization of novel fluoroalkyl 2‐trifluoromethylacrylate [CH2C(CF3)COOCH(CF3)CF2(C4H7O)] were developed. The fluorinated alcohol was derived by hydrolysis of the product from the radical addition of 2‐benzoxypentafluoropropene [CF2C(CF3)OCOC6H5] with tetrahydrofuran.
