Certain amide-containing anthraquinone, xanthone, and carbazole derivatives have been synthesized and evaluated in vitro for their antiproliferative activities against a panel of human cancer cell lines including nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC-TW01), lung carcinoma (NCI-H661), and leukemia (Jurkat).
