  Compounds of the formula (II): wherein R1 represents an optionally substituted aryl, aralkyl, aromatic heterocyclic or aromatic heterocyclylalkyl group, and R2 represents a phenyl group optionally substituted with C1-6 alkyl, halogen, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl or methylenedioxy, with the proviso that when R1 is benzyl, R2 is phenyl, 4-chlorophenyl, 2-hydroxyphenyl, α-C10H7- or β-C10H7-, have been found to have useful hyperalphaliproproteinaemic and/or hy- pobetalipoproteinaemic properties. These compounds are prepared by methods usual for analogous compounds.
