    The present invention relates to a composition comprising a polymeric network having at least one unit of formula (I), (II), and/or (III); (I) (II) (III) wherein said composition is obtained by contacting at least one compound A comprising at least two functions selected from the group of function of formula X—C(═O)—CHR 1 —C(═O)—R 2 , —C(═O)—C—R 2 ; or —C(═O)—CR 1 ═CR 2 —NR 4 R 5 ; wherein at least 25% by weight of compounds A have a functionality ≦5, with % by weight relative to the total weight of compounds A; with at least one compound B comprising at least one NH 2 , or NH 3 + groups; wherein X, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , L 1 and L 2 have the same meaning as that defined in the claims. The present invention also relates to a compound comprising at least two units and at most 5 units of formula (I), (II), and/or (III); wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , X, L 1 and L 2 have the same meaning as that defined in the claims. The present invention also relates to processes for preparing said composition and said compounds, to material, articles, and polymers comprising or using said compositions and compounds, and the use thereof.

    Non-peptide somatostatin receptor ligands with conformationally restricted side chains exhibiting high binding affinity toward somatostatin receptors are provided. The compounds exhibit a high selectivity and act as agonists at human subtype 2 somatostatin receptors. The compounds are long acting for advantageous use as medicaments in peripheral diseases where somatostatinergic therapy is indicated. Furthermore, many of the compounds are lipophilic and are particularly useful for treating central nervous system and ophthalmic diseases where penetration of the blood brain and blood retinal barriers is required. It is a further object to describe the preferred stereoisomers of these somatostatin agonists and processes for their preparation. Further objects will become apparent from reading the following description.

    A method for producing bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexanes includes a nuclear hydrogenation step of producing hydrogenated phthalic acids or phthalic acid derivatives by nuclear hydrogenation of phthalic acids or phthalic acid derivatives of at least one selected from the group consisting of phthalic acids, phthalic acid esters, and phthalic acid amides; a cyanation step of treating the hydrogenated phthalic acids or phthalic acid derivatives obtained in the nuclear hydrogenation step with ammonia, thereby producing dicyanocyclohexanes; and an aminomethylation step of treating the dicyanocyclohexanes obtained in the cyanation step with hydrogen, thereby producing bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexanes. In the cyanation step, metal oxide is used as a catalyst, and the obtained dicyanocyclohexanes have a metal content of 3000 ppm or less.

    The present invention is to a polyurethane dispersion and products produced therefrom wherein the dispersion contains a polyurethane prepolymer produced from the a reaction of an excess of a polyisocyante with an isocyanate reactive molecule wherein the polyisocyante is a bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane. Preferably the isocyanate comprises (i) trans-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane or (ii) an isomeric mixture of two or more of cis-1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, trans-1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, cis-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane and trans-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane, with the proviso said isomeric mixture comprises at least about 5 weight percent of said trans-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl)cyclohexane.
