The present invention relates to a compound represented by the following formula (I): [(A)n-B1]m(X)x[B2-(C)n']m'(I), wherein X is a radical derived from an aryl, a heteroaryl, a polyol, a saccharide, an amino-acid, a peptide, or a polyamine; each A represents independently a photoprotective moiety, each B1and B2represents independently a linker, C represents a functional group, x is 0 or 1, n is an integer from 1 to 12, n' is an integer from 1 to 2000, m is an integer from 1 to 12, m' is an integer from 0 to 12, and the number of photoprotective moieties A (m x n) is superior or equal to 2. It also relates to a composition comprising the same and, more particularly, to a cosmetic or a sunscreen composition. The invention further relates to a material comprising a support and such a compound adhered to said support.
