An electrophotographic photoconductor comprising :
a conductive substrate ;
a charge-generation layer formed on said conductive substrate ; and
a charge-transport layer formed on said charge-generation layer, said charge-transport layer comprising a charge-transport material and a binder resin which comprises a polycarbonate comprising at least one structural unit of formula I :
wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 each represent independently a hydrogen atom, a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a halogen atom or a phenyl group ; and at least one structural unit of formula II :
wherein R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 and R16 each represent independently a hydrogen atom, a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a halogen atom or a phenyl group, and R17 and R18 each represent independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, or R17 and R18 together form, with the carbon atom to which they are attached, a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon ring or an aliphatic hydrocarbon ring to which an aromatic ring is fused.
