Abstract The coordination chemistry of the ligand 2-acetylthiophene-o-aminobenzoylhydrazone (ATABZ) with oxovanadium(IV), manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) has been studied wherein the complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic moments, conductivity measurements, spectral (IR, 1D and 2D HETCOR NMR, EPR and UV-VIS) and thermal studies.
