A series of new tetrahomodiazacalix[2]naphthalenes, containing 2,3-dialkoxy-substituted naphthalene units, have been synthesized and some of their properties are reported. All of the newly-synthesized macrocycles were highly symmetrical and conformationally rigid and revealed âcalixarene-likeâ 1,3- alternate type structures.
