The invention relates to a vitamin D compound of the general formula
wherein:
R₁ is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy protecting group;
Z is a group of the general formula
wherein R₂ and R₃ are each individually straight or branched, substituted or unsubstituted, (C₁-C₆)alkyl groups, (C₂-C₆)alkenyl groups, (C₃-C₆)cycloalkyl groups or phenyl groups;
or wherein R₁ and R₃ together with the interconnecting oxadimethylene biradical form a 5-7 membered ring-closed (C₁-C₄)alkyl substituted hemiacetal;
with the proviso, that R₂ and R₃ are not both or individually methyl groups;
A and B are each individually hydrogen atoms or methyl groups, or A and B form together a methylene group.
The invention also relates to a method of preparing these compounds and to their use in pharmacology. The invention further relates to valuable new intermediates.
