    A Water Stable Magnesium MOF That Conducts Protons over 10–2 S cm–1
    摘要:
    From the outset Of the study of MOFs as proton conductors, both conductivity and hydrolytic robustness of the materials have needed to be improved. Here, we report a layered magnesium carboxyphosphonate framework, PCMOF10, that shows an extremely high proton conductivity value of 3.55 X 10(-2) S.cm(-1) at 70 degrees C and 95% RH. Moreover, PCMOP10 is water stable owing to strong Mg phosphonate bonding. The 2,5-dicarboxy-1,4-benzenediphosphohic acid (H6L) linker anchors a robust backbone and has hydrogen phosphonate groups that interact with the lattice water to form an efficient proton transfer pathway.

    A method of synthesis of metal organic frameworks ("MOFs") includes preparing a metal solution by dissolving at least one metal salt in an aqueous solution and buffering the metal solution with a base to achieve a first pH, the metal solution optionally comprising an organic co-solvent, preparing a linker solution by adding at least one organic acid linker and at least one base to an aqueous solution, and mixing the metal solution and the linker solution to produce the MOFs. The at least one organic acid linker has an ability to be protonated or deprotonated in response to a second pH, and the mixture of the metal solution and the linker solution has a third pH value, where the third pH value is greater than a highest pKa of the organic acid linker. The MOFs may be applied to a textile.

    An object of the present invention is to obtain a novel polymeric material capable of forming a solid polymer electrolyte excellent not only in processability, solvent resistance and durability/stability but also in ion conductivity by introducing sulfonic acid group or phosphonic acid group into a polybenzazole compound having excellent properties in view of heat resistance, solvent resistance, mechanical characteristics and the like. Means attaining the object of the present invention is a polybenzazole compound including an aromatic dicarboxylic acid bond unit having sulfonic acid group and/or phosphonic acid group and satisfying either a condition that inherent viscosity measured in concentrated sulfuric acid is in the range of 0.25 to 10 dl/g or a condition that inherent viscosity measured in a methanesulfonic acid solution is in the range of 0.1 to 50 dl/g. The object of the present invention can be attained also by a resin composition containing the aforementioned polybenzazole compound, a resin molding, a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, a solid polymer electrolyte membrane/electrode assembly and a method of preparing the solid polymer electrolyte membrane/electrode assembly.

    An article formed of polybenzazole comprising at least one repeating unit represented by one of specific formulas is provided. In the article, the molecular chains of said polybenzazole are orientated in a specific direction. In one aspect of the article, a degree of orientation A of the molecular chains is 0.6 or more and less than 1. In another aspect of the article, anisotropic magnetic susceptibility Δχ of the article is in a range of 1.0 x 10-8 to 1.0 x 10-6 [emu/g]. The present invention also directs to methods for producing the above-described articles. The methods comprise steps of preparing a liquid containing said polybenzazole, shaping a liquid containing said polybenzazole into a desired shape, applying one of magnetic and electric fields in a specific direction to the liquid so as to orientate the molecular chains of said polybenzazole therein in the specific direction, solidifying the liquid in the desired shape while the orientation of the molecular chains is maintained.

    There are provided a novel proton-conducting polymer membrane that shows good workability in a fuel cell assembling process and good proton conductivity and durability even under high-temperature, non-humidified conditions, a method for production thereof, and a fuel cell therewith. The proton-conducting polymer membrane includes: a polymer membrane containing a polybenzimidazole compound having a sulfonic acid group and/or a phosphonic acid group; and vinylphosphonic acid contained in the polymer membrane. The fuel cell uses the proton-conducting polymer membrane. The polybenzimidazole compound preferably includes a sulfonic and/or phosphonic acid group-containing component represented by Structural Formula (1): wherein n represents an integer of 1 to 4, R1 represents a tetravalent aromatic linking unit capable of forming an imidazole ring, R2 represents a bivalent aromatic linking unit, and Z represents a sulfonic acid group and/or a phosphonic acid group.
