Three pyridine derivatives, 4-(methoxymethyl)-6-methyl-2-oxo-1, 2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile (1), 4-(methoxymethyl)-6-methyl-5-nitro-2-oxo-1, 2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile (2) and 4-(methoxymethyl)- 1, 6-dimethyl-2-oxo-1, 2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile (3) have been synthesized, and their structural features have been studied by IR and electronic spectroscopy.
