4,5-Dinitroveratrole is effectively photosubstituted by amines with relatively high ionization potential such as methylamine, n-butylamine and ethyl glycinate, but is mainly photoreduced when amines with relatively low ionization potential, such as dimethyl or trimethylamine are used.
