The present invention encompasses a method of preparing a radiofluorinated compound by adding a photolabile protecting group, R, to an aminoxy group of a peptide based compound wherein the peptide based compound reacts with a light of a specified wavelength in an automated radiosynthesis apparatus to form a radiofluorinated compound.
