Abstract Poly-(N,N′-dibromo-N-ethyl-benzene-1,3-disulfonamide) (PBBS) and N,N,N′,N′-tetrabromobenzene-1,3-disulfonamide (TBBDA) are good activators and catalytic reagents for the acetylation of alcohols, amines, and thiols.
