  空间位阻的 2,5-二苯基和 2,3,5-三苯基-1-乙烯基吡咯已经通过相应的 NH-吡咯与乙炔在超碱性催化体系 KOH-DMSO 中的乙烯基化获得，产率高达 78%。通过 2,3-diphenyl-1-vinylpyrrole 的区域选择性溴化和 5-bromo-2,3-diphenyl-1 的后续交叉偶联，也以 75% 的收率获得了 2,3,5-Triphenyl-1-vinylpyrrole -乙烯基吡咯在二氯[1,1'-双(二苯基膦)二茂铁]钯(II)存在下与苯基溴化镁。2,5-二苯基和 2,3,5-三苯基-1-乙烯基吡咯进行自由基聚合（AIBN，80 °C），分别以 11% 和 27% 的产率形成低聚物。
