  A preparative-scale synthesis of B-gamma,gamma-dimethylallyldissopinocampheylborane starting from prenyl alcohol has been described. This reagent, upon reaction with various aldehydes, provides the corresponding alpha,alpha-dimethylhomoallylic alcohols in high enantioselectivities.
