Abstract Mannich aminomethylation reactions involving bis(glycinato)metal(II) (metal = zinc, nickel, copper and cobalt), formaldehyde and acetamide result in the formation of the respective metal(II) complexes of ( N,N -di- N ′-methylacetamido)glycine, which are characterized by various physical means, including X-ray structural analyses of the zinc(II) and nickel(II) complexes.
