Abstract The acid-catalyzedaquation of the title compound has been studied over the range of 0.05 + ] + for the range of acidity studied. The results have been interpreted in terms of mechanism involving acidcatalyzed dechelation followed by a rapid decarboxylation of the monodentate intermediate.
