A diastereoselective synthesis of substituted mono- and bicyclic-piperidine and pyrrolidine derivatives is presented, employing a highly selective cross metathesis (CM) reaction followed by a domino reduction–cyclization process.
An enantioselective organocatalytic, one-pot synthesis of pyrrolidine, hexahydropyrrolizine, and octahydroindolizine core structures was realized starting from readily available glycine esters by combination with several different organocatalytic reactions.

A one-pot strategy for the stereospecific conversion of boronicesters into enones has been developed using methoxyallene as a commercially available, three-carbon buildingblock. The methodology is suitable for primary, secondary, and tertiary boronicesters and has been applied to a 14-step total synthesis of the polyketide 10-deoxymethynolide.
