  The structure of the title compound, dichloro-1kappaCl,3kappaCl-di-mu-hydroxo-1:2kappa2O;3:4kappa2O-di-mu3-oxo-1:2:4kappa30;2:3:4kappa30-octaphenyl- 1kappa2C,2kappa2C,3kappa2C,-4kappa2C-quadro-tetratin(IV), consists of an almost planar array of four Sn(IV) atoms bridged by two O2- and two OH- ligands. Each Sn atom is bonded to two phenyl groups and the two terminal Sn atoms of the array are bonded to Cl- ligands. In this way, each Sn atom possesses a rather distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination geometry.
