By reacting dialkyl 1-oxo- or 2-oxoalkylphosphonates with benzhydrylamine followed by reduction with triacetoxyborohydride and acid hydrolysis gave corresponding aminoalkylphosphonic acids with satisfactory yields. The use of benzylamine, α-methylbenzylamine and tritylamine was unsuccessful in the case of dialkyl 1-oxoalkylphosphonates whereas conversion of 2-oxoalkylphosphonates was also achieved
An Efficient Synthesis ofN-Phosphorylated Azadienes, Primary (E)-Allylamines, and β-Amino-Phosphane Oxides and -Phosphonates from β-Functionalized Oxime Derivatives
chlorides 3 to unsaturated oximes 2, while azadienes 24 are prepared by olefination reactions of functionalized enamines 20/21. Reduction of azadienes 5, 7, 24 and derivatives 13/14 and 20/21 with hydrides, followed by deprotection of the resulting amines leads to the formation of primary allylamines 1 and β-aminophosphane oxides 17, phosphonates 18, and phosphonicacidderivatives 19.

A number of 1- and 2-aminoalkanephosphonates were resolved with high enantioselectivity by Candida antarctica lipase B-catalyzed acetylation. By this method, optically pure aminoalkanephosphonates and amidoalkanephosphonates, the precursors of the corresponding aminoalkanephosphonic acids, were synthesized. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd.
