  Abstract The reactivity of gem-dicyano epoxides with various alkenes is studies in solvent free conditions, and in homogeneous solution, under microwave irradiation. Microwave heating of these substrates in solvent, yields carbonyl ylides which give 1-3-dipolar cycloaddition.
