In their photochemicaldecomposition, azocompounds of the type PhNNSO3Na trap radicals R' and form RPhN-·NSO3Na, whom R' is NaSO3′ in water at 275 K and *H' in C2H5O*H at 320 K. The ESR parameters of the radicals observed are reported end the mechanism of their formation is discussed.
Splitting constants and g values are reported for 5,5‐dimethylpyrrolidine 1‐oxide spin adducts with radicals such as substituted‐Ph˙, NaSO3˙, PhS2˙, and others observed in the photochemicaldecomposition of azocompounds in various solvents.
