    摘要:
    The Suzuki coupling reactions of (4-X-Ph)Ph2P=O, where X = bromide or triflate, with a series of boronic acids were studied using tetrakis-(triphenylphosphino) palladium or palladium acetate as the catalyst. The boronic acids utilized were phenyl, p-tolyl, 3-methoxy, 4-methoxy, and 4-acetyl. Yields of the corresponding biphenyl analogues ranged from 50 to 95%. Palladium acetate provided products free of triphenylphosphine contamination, and required significantly shorter reaction times for complete reaction (2 to 4 hours vs. 12 to 24 hours, respectively) than when tetrakis-(triphenylphosphino) palladium was used. The methodology was applied to bis(4-F-Ph)(4-OTf-Ph)P=O to afford, in excellent yield (99%), a biphenyl-based AB, monomer precursor for dendritic and hyperbranched poly(arylene ether phosphine oxide)s.

    Highly Efficient Blue Electrophosphorescent Polymers with Fluorinated Poly(arylene ether phosphine oxide) as Backbone
    摘要:
    In view of the tolerance of F atoms in FIrpic to the nucleophilic aromatic substitution polymerization, an activated fluorinated poly(arylene ether phosphine oxide) backbone is used to construct novel blue electrophosphorescent polymers containing FIrpic as the blue emitter, because they can be synthesized under a milder temperature of 120 degrees C. Compared with the counterparts prepared at high temperature (165 degrees C), unexpected bathochromic shift is successfully avoided, and a state-of-art luminous efficiency as high as 19.4 cd A(-1) is achieved. The efficiency is comparable to the corresponding physical blend system, which indicates that the fluorinated poly(arylene ether phosphine oxide) has the potential to be used as the platform for the development of high-performance all-phosphorescent white polymer based on single polymer system.

    Disclosed is a process for preparing branched polyarylene ether polymers by (A) providing a reaction mixture comprising (i) a polyfunctional phenol compound of the formula Ar(OH) x wherein x≧3 and wherein Ar is an aryl moiety or an alkylaryl moiety, provided that when Ar is an alkylaryl moiety at least three of the —OH groups are bonded to an aryl portion thereof, (ii) a compound of the formula wherein m is 0 or 1, Y and Y′ each, independently of the other, is fluorine or chlorine, and A is as defined herein, (iii) a compound of the formula wherein B is as defined herein, and (iv) a carbonate base; and (B) heating the reaction mixture and removing generated water from the reaction mixture, thereby effecting a polymerization reaction. Also disclosed are polymers prepared by this process and imaging members containing these polymers.
