A transition metal- and organophotocatalyst free synthesis of esters, carboxylic anhydrides and amides from aldehydes induced by visible-light has been reported. The proposed methodology can be carried out by the use of sunlight or artificial visible light as a blue LED source. The methodology has a very broad applicability and the desired products are obtained in very satisfactory yields.

A combination of the oxidative N‐heterocyclic carbene catalysis and click chemistry has been explored for the direct, one‐potsynthesis of 1,2,3‐triazole derivatives from aromaticaldehydes. This procedure was found to be very efficient and a variety of 1,2,3‐triazole derivatives could be accessed through their corresponding propargyl esters in moderate‐to‐good yields under mild conditions.

A series of new 1,4-disubstituted 1H-1,2,3-triazole derivatives were synthesized by an efficientcopper-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of 4-(1-adamantyl)benzyl azide with several terminalalkynes. The copper catalyst was used to provide 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles regioselectively in good yields.
