A ruthenium(II) complex bearing
N,Nâ²-bis(4-aminophenyl)-1,4-phenylenediamine moieties, which
can be chemically oxidized to the corresponding
N,Nâ²-bis(4-aminophenyl)-1,4-benzoquinonediimine moieties,
was synthesized, characterized electrochemically and photochemically, and
found to afford a redox-switching system.
