A dicyanopyrazine compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, substituted aralkyl or thienylmethyl, provided that R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are not simultaneously hydrogen and that at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is an alkyl group having four or more carbon atoms.
